“I’m a great coach, but I’m struggling to make my business work. My heart just isn’t in it.”
Let’s be honest.
Sometimes you love coaching, but you don’t love your coaching business.
As coaches, we hate to admit that we are struggling, let alone say it!
Feel the relief when you acknowledge the truth of how you really feel about your coaching business.
You aren’t alone. Far from it. A lot of coaches feel this way (percentages not available because we don’t talk about it!).
The hard truth is that if you don’t love your coaching business, you’re losing a huge amount of the power and impact that you could have as a coach. Your business is the engine behind the great coaching that you do. It’s what makes your coaching available to the world.
Plus, as a coach, loving your business is a necessary act of survival. To state the obvious, it goes against the very grain of coaches to spend a significant amount of time on anything that we don’t love.
If you don’t love your coaching business, you find yourself between a rock and a hard place. You spend a lot of time on something you don’t love, or you try to make yourself love it, or you just don’t do the things you know you ’should’ be doing.
I’m sure that you have tried to find ways to love it. Our goal as coaches is to find the compelling way. A laudable goal, to be sure.
The hitch comes when no matter what you do, it still feels difficult and not as successful as you know it can be.
Then you may start to think that you are a great coach, but you’re not cut out for the business part of coaching. That’s an invitation for the gremlins to come in and have a party. Actually, they’ve already arrived, and you’re losing power and energy.
If this fits for you, you have come to the right place. Help is at hand.
What Does Reinvention Have to Do With It?
A reinvention is a coming home to the authentic you.
If you don’t love your coaching business, it is time to reinvent it.
Quit trying to do your business the way other successful coaches do it. Find your own way, the one that works for you and leverages all of who you are. Do business activities that you love for their own sake. Because they feel empowering to you, and they bring out the best in you.
Let go of the activities that work for everybody else if you don’t like doing them. There is never a happy ending to an unhappy journey.
Find the way that aligns to you, and you’ll be happy. You and your business will thrive.
By the way, when I say ‘business’, I mean anything that isn’t coaching: technology, marketing, finances, office organization, product and service development, vision and strategy, time management, etc. Everything except the actual coaching.

Whatever route you choose to reinvent your coaching business, it is my mission to support you in loving your coaching business as much as you love coaching.
And to support you in knowing that you are as great a business person as you are a coach. I want to completely dispel the erroneous belief that great coaches aren’t great business people. It’s just not true.
It’s not my goal to teach you how to run your business successfully. When you need specific skill building or resources, there are many great teachers and programs out there.
This isn’t the issue for most of us. Most of us know what business activities we should be doing and we just aren’t doing them.
I want to coach you back into your whole-hearted commitment and passion for your coaching business. Then you’ll have all the power and energy you need to do the business activities that are a match to you. That’s real success and prosperity.
You already have a whole-hearted commitment to coaching. Let’s discover it for your coaching business.
We need only to truly follow our bliss (as Joseph Campbell said) in our coaching business as much as in our coaching, and we, and our businesses, will thrive in unimaginable ways.
